Chaos - Observing Seagulls
7:28 pmIf you have ever observed Gulls (yeah, seagulls) you may have noticed that they are always active, very noisy and where there are seagulls there are always chaos. I was at Tubli Bay over the weekend just to check what all birds have come to Bahrain as part of the winter migration and was observing seagulls feeding. There was so much chaos and they were continuously fighting, flying around and trying to scavenge the fish from other.
Even though it looks like chaos to us but that’s how it works in the gull colonies. Gulls are very inquisitive, intelligent and have been observed demonstrating complex methods of communication and a highly developed social structure.
If you are a Instagram user you would have definitely come across at least one meme wherein the gulls are snatching food and trying to harass others. They always show mobbing behavior, attacking and harassing predators and other intruders.
Below are the set of images which I shot in the short span of 20 minutes in the early sun. I have not removed any aspect of the scene from the image and nor I have cropped the image to make it look more pleasing. I wanted to portray a pure, edited (in terms of light and contrast) scene which I have observed for you to feel the chaos.
